Our 5th class pupils recently took part in the Say Yes to Languages programme. This programme is a Department of Education initiative to introduce a modern foreign language to senior classes. The children engaged in a series of lessons in Spanish, learning basic greetings, vocabulary, everyday phrases and also learned how to speak about themselves in another language. By the end of the programme, our pupils were able to write a text about themselves in Spanish.
