Our 5th class pupils recently took part in the Cycle Right programme which was delivered by Cycle Sense from Skibbereen. Over the course of four two-hour sessions, the children developed and practised a range of cycling skills enabling them to become proficient cyclists. They learned how to use the correct hand signals, turn right and left safely and how to be aware of traffic and other hazards while cycling on the roads. They put these skills into practice in their last session when they ventured onto the local roads for a cycle in the locality under the guidance of instructors Kate and Max. It was a very valuable experience and enjoyed immensely by the children. The children also received a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Super cycling Rang a 5!
